In addition to trucks, cargo trains are crucial for moving resources on land. When you build a Cargo Train Terminal, it becomes a storage point for incoming and outgoing cargo. Even without specific cargo routes, companies can use the terminal’s storage facilities like a distribution center for their resources and goods.
To receive cargo trains, you need to create a cargo train line, similar to passenger train lines. Trains transport resources from Outside Connections to the terminal, where they are stored until local delivery trucks pick them up for distribution within the city. Companies find it cost-effective and faster to send goods via trains rather than using trucks to reach Outside Connections.
Because of the significant resource movement at the terminal, it can cause a lot of truck traffic. Thus, it’s important to ensure smooth road connections to the terminal to prevent traffic jams.

Air cargo transportation becomes an option when you upgrade the airport with a cargo terminal, which provides an extra terminal exclusively for cargo transport. Cargo planes use this terminal to load and unload their cargo. In comparison to cargo trains and ships, cargo planes have relatively lower capacity, but they are the fastest choice available, unaffected by city traffic or dependent on accessible waterways.

Cargo ships have a capacity of 1000 tons of cargo. While they are slower than trains, they aren’t affected by heavy road traffic. Cargo Harbors can also serve as storage facilities for resources and goods, functioning much like cargo train terminals.
Cargo Harbors, however, generate significant traffic because delivery vehicles unload cargo ships and transport the resources into the city. Additionally, the Cargo Harbor can be enhanced with a railway connection, enabling trains to transport cargo directly to and from the harbor.
